Gary Smith
Gary Smith is the CEO of B Corporation, BioPak, an award-winning, global leader in compostable single-use packaging that provides innovative, plant-based alternatives to foodservice plastics and helping businesses work towards a circular economy.
Smith spearheaded the development of Australia’s first national composting service, Compost Connect in 2021. The launch of this innovative product stewardship scheme has created a viable solution to help businesses and consumers reduce their waste by connecting them with composters across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and soon also in Singapore and Hong Kong.
In 2024, Smith won the coveted EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Australia accolade. This program recognises ambitious leaders who build and sustain successful, dynamic businesses and reframe the future. He will be representing Australia at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year event in June 2024.
